Preobrazhenija Gospodnja Church
At a front entrance in the Nikitsky botanical garden Preobrazhenija Gospodnja erected in the Byzantian style odnonefnoj basils the orthodox church, but with elements of purely Russian temple architecture — a small belfry of the Pskov type and the dome which has not remained now, as a flame of a candle with an eight-final cross on a castle-half moon is located.
Church Building was carried out at the initiative of the director then A.I.Bazarova's Imperial Nikitsky garden. The base bookmark has taken place on a holiday of Blagoveshchenja on April, 7th, 1884, and the first Divine Liturgy — It was on February, 18th, 1887 house church at gardening and wine growing School in the Nikitsky garden.
The Church has been closed in 1927, and the building began to be used in the various economic purposes. In 1992 orthodox believers of settlement Nikita have concluded the contract with the director of the Nikitsky garden on rent of a building of church for renewal in it of divine services. The church has been restored, and in Preobrazhenija Gospodnja patron saint's day on August, 19th, 1992 the building has been again consecrated, and on a holiday of Blagoveshchenja the first Liturgy after 656 years of spiritual silence on April, 7th, 1993 has been served.
