Church of Revival Christ's (the item of Foros)
In two kilometres from Bajdarsky gate on descent in settlement attracts attention forosskaja church of Revival Christ's — a monument of Russian architecture of XIX century
The church in 1892 on picturesque steep rock — the Red rock at height of 400 metres above sea level Is built.
The Church is erected to means of the owner of a manor of Foros, chaepromyshlennika And. G.Kuznetsova under the project of academician N. M.Chagina in memory of "wonderful" rescue of emperor Alexander III and his families at train wreck on October, 17th, 1888 at station Borki of the Kursko-Kharkov railway.
The Church is constructed in the Byzantian temple style, with system of internal support-columns and with application of numerous domes as Russian wooden temples. The silhouette, elegance forosskaja the church reminded the Moscow churches of the end of a XVIII-th century.
Mosaic works are executed by the well-known workshop of Italian Antonio Salviati, and the internal interior is painted by known artists A.K.Korzuhinym, V.E.Makovskim, academician N.E.Sverchkovym.
In 1924 the church has been closed, crosses are dumped, the list is painted over, and its prior is sent to Siberia. Till 1969 here there was a snackbar for coming tourists, and after church in general it has appeared thrown.
It is transferred a community in 1992 and after restoration works in a temple the service is again renewed.
